So much fun

I never knew having kids could be so much fun. I love watching them grow and learn each day...even imitating you.

Jayce's new thing is "cooking", both in his play kitchen and for real. The other day I was making a soup and Jayce wanted to help. So I cut up all the veggies and he put them in the pot, he even poured in the can of tomatoes & beans. He actually did a great job. He loves making brownies or cookies... maybe he'll become a chef someday. Yum! Here is a cute picture of him helping cook...look at the huge grin on his face~!

Little monkey toes is getting SO big. She is still an awesome baby. She starting to have her own opinions about things, like being put down or having toys taken away, but still a joy to be around....all smiles and hardly ever complains. I let her have a food sensory dinner the other night...she LOVED playing in mashed pototoes...she even got them in her eyes! Needless to say this warrented a shower afterwards!

This past Monday when my mom came down to watch the kids (and Keith went fishing) we went on a hayride. Here is a cute picture of all of us.

treating others with respect

UGhh, so lately we've been cleaning house. I've been putting a lot of items on craigslist and on freecycle. I am completely amazed at how many people do not show up for scheduled appointments to buy/get things. Over 50% of the people that I make an appointment with (at their convenience) do not show up. I always give them my cell phone number in case things come up and they can call and cancel. But seriously what is this world coming to when you can't show other people respect. What happened to treating others as you wish to be treated? What type of example are these people setting for their children? What type of world are Jayce & Kaelyn going to grow up in? I'm just thoroughly disgusted! We've become this horrible society of everyone thinking they deserve handouts or bailouts. We trash our planet in the effort to be cheaper, faster, quicker. We throw things away because it is easier than making the effort to recycle. How long can we go on like this?

Firetruck

Here is a picture of Jayce at our local firestation. Keith and Jayce had some one on one time last week. Jayce LOVED the trucks.

why

Ok, so I got my first "why" this morning. Jayce is not even two yet! I thought I had a few years before this started! The conversation went like this:
I was undressing Kaelyn from her PJs and turned to Jayce and said:
"Jayce can you please put Kaelyn's PJ's in the hamper."
He looked at me and says "why?".
Without a beat I told him "Because they need to be washed."
He goes "OK" and takes them from me and puts them in the hamper.

I'm guessing the future conversations are not going to be resolved that easily~!
