So we've been a bit busy!

I just realized that I hadn't posted in a while. We finally have 1/2 of our house back in order. We had the popcorn ceilings stripped in all of the rooms except the office & Jayce's. Those two rooms fared the best with the soot, plus maybe b/c they were the last to be painted that they were the easiest to clean. Then we brought our painter out and he repainted the whole first floor. Keith and I spent this last week dusting all our furniture and moving it back into the room. So we are a bit livable again. And too boot the kitchen skylight started leaking so our friend Ray graciously took time out of his busy schedule to install a few skylights for us. I'm really excited though as we ordered solar shades and it should be awesome this summer to close the shades and keep some of the summer day heat out of our house. BUT, when he pulled the skylights he found that the real reason for the leak was actually our ROOF!! Ugh, will it ever end? Apparently they never put tar paper down on the roof under the shingles? And we have two sets of shingles with rotting nails. So since we just redid all the ceilings it is probably wise to invest in a new roof at least on the lower level as there is no attic to buffer the ceiling from the roof. Plus Ray said that the shingles probably only have another 5 years so might be best to just face the dragon now, especially considering it leaked already. There goes our early retirement fund! :)

But on a happier note. Jayce is getting so big and so active. He is sitting all by himself and only falls over when he gets really excited and his arms flail! He works his toys and can entertain himself for hours now. I put all his toys in two baskets within his reach and he just plays with them and transfers them from basket to basket. He's figured out most of the buttons and combinations on his phone and piano. Keith and I are surprised as he's played songs that we didn't know the toys played. Plus this kid LOVES blocks. We stack blocks for him and he knocks them down. He will even "inch-bug" his way over to the stack of blocks to knock them down. He is so frustrated that he can't crawl but he knows that he can move over to those blocks and he tried so hard that he is panting by the time he's moved the 10" over to the blocks. Gotta give the little guy credit for trying. Well, I'll plan on doing a better posting job next month and include some more pictures for everyone.

Hope your spring is fun.
