It has been a while since we posted as our life has been a bit crazy. The bathroom renovation has taken on a life of its own and we uncovered so many wrong-doings in the house that had to get fixed. I'd list them all but don't want to bore you with all the details. So a few months later, and way over budget we are about a week away from both bathrooms being completed! yeh! There is still a ton of detail work to be done but we'll just have to do that slowly over the next few months when we have the free time (maybe while I'm on maternity leave! ha ha)
But, as planned, Keith and I undertook the hardwood floor project this week with lots of help. My mom & dad and our nanny Nicole helped by watching Jayce most of the days and our friends Tim & Chris came over a bunch to help with manual labor. I am only good for light work with a 8 month preggy belly. Thankfully the boys helped Keith with all the hard stuff and I only had to choose and fit the boards. And after 1 week of dedicated effort we still didn't get all the rooms completed. Our bedroom, the hallways and Jayce's rooms all now have hardwood floors, only the blue spare bedroom is left. Today we moved Jayce back into his room with a huge sigh of relief. We also picked up crib #2 (thanks to Kathy & Ernie!) and Keith can now set that up so we'll be ready once baby girl Baran decides to arrive. Both Keith and I are SO sore...everything hurts, legs, arms, feet, hands. We really appreciate our desk jobs now.
Now we just need to rearrange our bedroom back to normal and put all the floor mouldings in the rooms we completed. Then hopefully in a few weeks with renewed energy we can get the last bedroom completed with hardwood. The to-do list is getting smaller and I think we both feel a bit more accomplished now that we see the awesome floors...in the long run it will be worth all that moaning and groaning and hopefully Jayce's allergies will be better without all the carpets holding all that crap.
