Almost clean
The cleaners finished cleaning our house on Thursday. YEH!! Well, except for the carpets, they are going to do those on Tuesday. On Monday morning the oil company is going to come out and take a look at the furnace again, clean it and make sure everything is ok. Also all of our clothes, bedding & curtains come back on Monday afternoon. So the end is in sight.

Childless Night
Ah, for the first time since Jayce came home we actually had a childless night. Grammy Narrow took Jayce overnight on Sunday into Monday. We would have gone out to celebrate except that the stomach bug that Jayce caught on Friday was passed along to me over the weekend and I was not in any mood to go out...plus we have so much to do here at the house. The cleaners were here again today and all the bedrooms are finally clean, the laundry room and the kitchen. I'd say our house is getting back to normal but far from it. They basically clean everything and put all the cleaned items in one big pile in the center of the room. So when they get done with a room we get to go around and put everything back where it belongs. Lots of fun...almost like we just moved in! Plus now Keith is not feeling well. Ah, this is the life....when is my next vacation!?

Kicked out of daycare
Ha, got your attention! Actually Jayce did get kicked out of daycare for the day on Friday as he got sick with a 12 hour stomach bug. He's fine now but we thought it was funny that on his second week in daycare he already got kicked out. Must take after his dad!
But we're having fun here...well not really. Keith came home on Wednesday night to a house full of smoke. Apparently a nozzle clogged on our furnace and black soot was billowing out of it. Our whole house was affected. We crashed a dinner party across the street at our neighbors until the smoke settled down and we did sleep in our house on Wednesday night. All the damage wasn't apparent to us until Thursday morning when we saw that every plastic kid toy of Jayce's was covered in black. Then we noticed it was on the toilet seat, windows, carpets...basically all over. Everytime you touched something you had black on your hands. Keith took Thursday off and we called the insurance company to come assess the damage. Basically EVERYTHING in our house needs to be cleaned. From our clothes to our medicine bottles! A crew came out on Friday and took away all of our clothes, jackets, bedding, curtains, towels...basically anything that could be washed or drycleaned. Keith and I kept enough clothes to wear over the next two weeks and went to a laundromat in town to do 9 loads of extra large laundry (we've also done 12 loads at the house!). Also a cleaning crew came out on Friday to clean Jayce's room, our bedroom and both bathrooms. They cleaned not only the ceiling, but walls, lamps...again everything. Our house is a disaster right now. All the closets have to be emptied and cleaned and every toy of Jayce's needed to be washed...even the kitchen closet with all of our pots & pans and the china cabinet all need to be cleaned. It is really overwhelming. Even with the cleaning crew doing most of the work, Keith and I are running around making sure all the essentials are washed and that we aren't tracking too much dirt between the dirty & clean rooms. This is just so much work.....Keith said that we are running a Marathon right now and I need to not freak out b/c everything is filthy. But you know me...I'm a sprinter and everything needs to be cleaned now. I am not taking this soot covered house too well! They said that it will take until next Wednesday to clean everything! Wish us luck.

1st day of daycare
Jayce's 1st day of daycare was yesterday. We all did amazing well dropping him off. He was very excited about new toys and didn't care when we left. I called around noon and he was doing ok but a little off schedule and not sleeping well. That is when I felt bad...but I need to keep in mind that it took me a while to figure the little guy out so I hve to expect some rough roads ahead. But I guess by the end of the day he was sleeping like a champ as he was so exhausted by all the activity. He was Mr. Curious of all the other babies and spent a lot of time just staring at them. But surprisingly he is very sensitive to noise and when the other kids banged their toys he'd start to cry. I guess our house is pretty quiet, but he's never really been sensitive to loud noise...Rosie barking...or parties..or sneezes..so who knows, probably just a new environment. Keith went to pick him up yesterday and said he hung out at the facility for a while and said that everyone was super nice and friendly and it was fun watching all the babies. So I guess we chose a good place and now they just need to learn Jayce. Here is a picture of him at daycare.

8 hours of sleep
I have no idea when the last time I slept 8 hours was....not in the last 3 months and certainly not in the last couple of months of pregnancy. Jayce went down at 9 last night and slept until 5:30 this morning! Ahh it was so freshing. I feel like a new woman who can concur the world!
I also started work yesterday. Only going back 2 days a week...Monday & Wednesday...but it actually went a lot better than I expected. My mom stayed overnight on Sunday and watched Jayce during the day on Monday. Since I wasn't worried about him I could actually focus on work. Tomorrow we actually drop him off at day care!!! I'm sure I'm going to be a nervous wreck with strangers watching my kid....but we did our research and I'm comfortable with our day care place. It will be good for him to play with other kids and learn a little more independence. Right now at home we answer to his every cry and need. In day care he'll be 1 of 4 kids that need to be attended too. Plus he'll have new toys to play with. I really feel as though he is loosing interest with his few toys. I can't wait until he can sit up on his own and has a little more hand control, and can actually play with something. Then I can bring out the blocks and other fun toys that we have.
