Beautiful Weekend!
Oh it was a fabulous weekend! So nice & warm. We pretty much played outside all weekend long. Jayce even told me "there's no more snow mommy, we can eat breakfast outside". So on Friday morning we donned our jackets and ate breakfast outside. Even our princess Kaelyn is beginning to like it outside and doesn't mind getting dirty anymore. She was happily playing in the sandbox today! I've had to put aside some sacrifical outfits for her as even though she started walking a few weeks ago she decided that crawling is more her style (or maybe just faster still) and is back on all fours.
I've been doing a ton of yard work on my days off with the kids. Raking for a couple hours here and there. I've pretty much got the yard picked up from the fall/winter. I even planted the peas in the garden today! I'm still trying to decide what to plant this year but the peas were such a hit last year that I decided to plant a TON more than I did last year. The strawberry plants look like they survived the winter and I'm hoping the asparagus is going to be a good crop this year. I'm told that I can harvest for 1 week this year! So yeh. The blueberry bushes are starting to bud and I just replanted the raspberries. I also noticed two onions made it over the winter. I must have not picked them last season...will wait until I plant the bed to see what they look like! Probably tomato, broccoli & cucumber. Maybe an eggplant & squash plant as well.
I'm excited...Jayce brought some worms to the garden today and I mixed in some organic feed so we are getting ready....it was WONDERFUL eating all our own food over the winter. Still have some spaghetti sauce, cucumbers & frozen veggies left...but not for much longer!
